Infection prevention and control

Infection prevention and control is all about keeping the germs away. Remember the last time you got sick? It was probably because some nasty germs got into your body and made you feel sick. But don't worry, we can keep those germs away if we're careful.

To prevent germs from getting into our bodies, we need to do a lot of things. First, we need to wash our hands with soap and water. This is the best way to get rid of germs on our hands. We should also cover our mouth and nose when we cough or sneeze, because that can spread germs to other people.

But sometimes, no matter how careful we are, we still get sick. That's why we need to be even more careful when we're around someone who is sick. We might need to wear a mask to keep their germs away from us, and we might need to stay away from them until they get better.

Hospitals and doctors' offices are really good at infection prevention and control. They always wash their hands before they touch anyone, and they wear special clothes to keep the germs away. They also clean everything really well, so that there are no germs left on the surfaces.

So, infection prevention and control is all about keeping ourselves and others healthy by washing our hands, covering our mouth and nose when we cough or sneeze, and being careful when around someone who is sick.
