Informal mathematics is math that is all around us, but not always in the form of equations and numbers. For example, when you run, you may count how many times your feet hit the ground and when you bake a cake, you may measure out the ingredients and figure out how many more people it will feed. Even when you draw different shapes, you are using math without realizing it! When you play a game and tell your friends to keep score, you are using math too. Informal mathematics helps you understand the world around us and can help us figure out things in everyday life.
