ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Information gain ratio

Information gain ratio is a way of deciding which feature will be the most useful when making predictions. Imagine you have a big list of features that you could use to make a prediction, but you don't know which one will help the most. Information gain ratio helps you figure out which one is best by looking at how much information each feature can give you. The higher the information gain ratio is, the better the feature is for making predictions.
