Initiative for Open Authentication

Initiative for Open Authentication (sometimes known as OAuth) is a way for people to securely sign in to different websites or programs without needing to provide their username and password each time. It's like a special key that you can give to a website or program so that they can securely access your account every time you want to sign in. It's like getting a special pass to get into somewhere you're a member. OAuth can also be used to share information from one account to another without any of the accounts needing to give away their password. OAuth is used by lots of different websites and programs to keep things secure and make using different websites and programs easier.
