ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Inland rainforest

An inland rainforest is like a big forest that has lots and lots of trees and plants, and it's located kind of far away from the big oceans.

Okay, so you know that the rain is what makes plants grow big and strong, right? Well, in an inland rainforest, it rains a lot. And not just a little shower every day, but sometimes really heavy rain that lasts for hours and hours.

All of this rain makes the soil really wet and rich with lots of good stuff for the plants to eat. And because there are so many trees and plants there, it makes it the perfect home for lots of animals, like birds, squirrels, and even big animals like bears and moose!

But even though it might seem like everything is perfect in the inland rainforest, the trees and animals there actually need a lot of protection. This is because people sometimes cut down the trees for wood or to make room for buildings.

So, it's really important that we try to take care of the inland rainforest and not harm all of the trees and animals living there.
