ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Input device

An input device is something that helps you put information into a computer or other electronic device. It's kind of like a magic wand that lets you cast spells on your computer! Some examples of input devices are:

1. Keyboard: This has lots of buttons, each with a different letter, number or symbol on it. When you press one of these buttons, it sends a signal to the computer to tell it what you've pressed.

2. Mouse: This is a little device that you move around on a special pad or desk. When you move the mouse, you can make a little arrow on the computer screen move too. You can also click on things on the screen using the mouse.

3. Touchscreen: This is a special kind of screen that you can touch with your fingers or a special pen. When you touch the screen, it sends a signal to the computer to tell it where you've touched.

4. Game controller: This is a special device that you use to play video games. It has lots of buttons and knobs that you can use to control the characters on the screen.

So, an input device is something that helps you talk to your computer or electronic device by sending signals to let it know what you want it to do. It's like magic!
