Input devices

Hello there!

Input devices are used to give commands and instructions to the computer or any other digital device. Just like when you talk to your mom or dad and tell them what to do, input devices allow you to tell the computer or any other digital device what to do!

Some examples of input devices are keyboards, mice, touchscreens, and microphones.

A keyboard is a tool that has letters and numbers on it that you can press with your fingers to type out messages, letters, or commands. When you press a key, a signal is sent to the computer, and the letter or command you typed is translated into words on the screen.

A mouse is an input device that you use to move a pointer on the screen. It has a couple of buttons that you can click to select things on the screen. You move it around on your desk, and the cursor or pointer moves around on your screen!

Touchscreens are like big phones or tablets that you can touch with your fingers or stylus to give commands. When you touch the screen, the touchscreen device translates your touch into a command.

Finally, a microphone is an input device that you use to give voice commands. It listens to your voice and translates what you say into a computer language that the computer or digital device can understand!

So, input devices are the tools we use to interact with our computers and other digital devices. They take our commands and translate them into a language that our devices can understand!
