ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Institute of Transportation Engineers

Okay kiddo, the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is a big group of really smart people who work together to make roads and transportation better. They want everyone to be able to move around safely and easily, whether they're in a car, on a bike, or walking on their feet.

These people study how traffic moves, how to build better roads, and how to make sure everyone using them stays safe. They use math, science, and technology to figure out the best ways to do this.

The ITE also helps make rules for things like traffic lights and crosswalks, so that everyone knows what to do when they're driving or walking. They also work with other groups to make sure that new buildings and neighborhoods are designed with transportation in mind, so that people can easily get around.

Basically, the ITE is like a big team of superheroes working to make transportation better for everyone. They care about making the world a better place to live in, and they work hard to make sure everyone can get where they need to go, safely and quickly.
