Insular script

So, there was this type of writing called insular script that people used a long time ago in a place called Ireland. It kind of looked like fancy letters that were all squished together.

Before this, people didn't really have a standard way of writing things down, so it was all kind of messy and hard to read. But then people in Ireland decided to make a special way of writing that was easier to read and looked really pretty.

The insular script was used for things like writing down religious books, like the Bible, and also for important documents like charters. It took a lot of time and skill to write in insular script because the letters were so fancy and had to be just right.

But eventually, people started using different ways of writing and the insular script kind of faded away. But some people still study it and think it's really cool!
