Insulated gate bipolar transistor

Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) are semiconductors that help control current in electrical devices. They are like switches – they can turn power on or off quickly. They can also be used to control the speed of devices like electric motors. IGBTs are made out of several layers of different materials glued together which can allow electrons to flow in one direction more easily than the other. This helps control the flow of electricity and helps prevent unwanted devices from getting powered.
