ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Integrated reporting

Integrated reporting is a way for companies to better explain to people like you what they are doing and how they are doing it. It helps them tell a complete story about what they are doing to create value for everyone, not just making money for themselves.

Think about it like a school project. When you have to do a project, you need to research and gather information before starting. Integrated reporting is like that – companies have to gather all the information they can about the different things that they do – like making and selling products and hiring employees.

Once they have all the information they need, they can create a report that tells this complete story. Integrated reporting can help companies show what they are doing well, as well as the things they are working on improving. Companies are able to share how they are taking care of the environment, the people they hire and work with, and the positive impact they have on the communities around them.

So, integrated reporting is like a report card for companies. It tells us how they are doing, what they are doing well, and what they need to work on. It helps us understand how the company is taking care of everyone, including the environment and the people who work with them. All of this information helps us make better decisions about which companies we want to support with our money or our business.
