Intensional logic

Intensional (or 'qualitative') logic is a kind of logic that deals with how people think and talk about things. It's different from the traditional (or 'extensional') logic that mathematicians use, because it looks at the meanings of words rather than just looking at numbers and symbols. In intension logic, sentence structure and the meanings of words are important. For example, if you said "I went to the store and bought apples" in extensional logic, you'd just say "A = B" (A = store, B = apples). But in intensional logic, you'd look at the meaning of the words and say "I = the person talking + went = to move + store = a place to buy things + apples = a particular kind of food" This kind of logic can be useful for analyzing different kinds of arguments and for understanding language more deeply.
