ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

International Arctic Science Committee

The International Arctic Science Committee, also known as IASC for short, is a group of people from different countries who work together to study and understand the Arctic region. Imagine there being a big puzzle with many different pieces, and all of these people are working together to put the puzzle together correctly. They do this by collecting information and data about the Arctic climate, wildlife, environment, and more. They then use this information to answer questions and solve problems related to the Arctic, like how humans can best protect the environment while still using its resources, or how melting ice might affect the world's sea levels. The IASC helps make sure that all the different countries studying the Arctic are working together and sharing information, so that everyone can learn more and make good decisions about this important part of our planet.
