International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights is an agreement between different countries about what civil and political rights should all people have. It sets out our rights such as:
1. The right to life and freedom from torture.
2. The right to a fair trial.
3. The right to freedom of speech, assembly, and association.
4. Right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion.
5. The right to privacy.
By agreeing to this Covenant, all countries promise to protect these rights and allow people to enjoy them.
