The International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (often called UNIDROIT) is an international organization that helps make sure that laws in different countries are similar. They do this so that it makes it easier to do things like buy or sell things, or sign contracts, across different countries. They make sure that laws in different countries that are related to private law (like the law related to selling and buying things) are the same or at least similar. That way, it makes it easier to do business in different countries.
