ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Iowa Colored Cowboys

Well kiddo, let me tell you about Iowa colored cowboys. First, we need to understand that Iowa is a state in the United States, and cowboys are usually associated with the western part of the country, like Texas. But did you know that Iowa also has cowboys?

Now, when we say "colored cowboys", we don't mean the color of their skin. That's not nice to judge people based on their skin color. Instead, "colored" is a word some people used to describe the type of cows these cowboys worked with.

You see, in Iowa, they have a special kind of cow called a "belted Galloway". These cows have a unique look, with a white stripe going around their middle (like they're wearing a belt), and then black on the top and bottom. They look like Oreo cookies!

So these Iowa cowboys who work with these belted Galloway cows might be called "Iowa colored cowboys". But really, they're just cowboys like any other cowboys in the country, doing the important work of taking care of their animals and the land they live on.
