Iron–sulfur protein

Iron-sulfur proteins are very tiny things that help our bodies work properly. They are made up of two elements, iron and sulfur.

Imagine a tiny machine that helps turn food into energy. This tiny machine needs iron-sulfur proteins to work properly.

Iron is a very important element that helps carry oxygen in our blood. Sulfur is another element that helps make proteins. When iron and sulfur come together, they create iron-sulfur proteins.

Iron-sulfur proteins can also help our bodies fight off bad things like viruses and bacteria. They are important helpers in keeping our bodies healthy and strong!
