Islamic republic

An Islamic Republic is a country where the laws are mostly based on Islamic beliefs. Islam is a religion that believes in one God (called Allah) and its followers are called Muslims. In an Islamic Republic, the government makes rules about things like what people can do, what people can wear, where people can go, and what type of things people can buy. The government tries to make sure that everyone follows rules that follow the teachings from the Islamic faith.
