ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Isolated-phase bus

Imagine you have a toy train set, and the train tracks are the wires that carry electricity. Normally, these wires are connected to each other like a big loop, but sometimes we want to have a special track where the train can go by itself without getting in the way of the other trains. This special track is like an isolated-phase bus.

An isolated-phase bus is a group of wires that are separated from all the other wires so they can carry electricity on their own without interfering with anything else. They are like a special lane on a highway just for certain types of cars.

This special lane is very important in power plants, where a lot of electricity is generated and transmitted to other places. It keeps the electricity flowing smoothly and prevents any accidents or damage to the power system. Just like how the special track keeps the toy train safe and on the right path.

So, an isolated-phase bus is like a special track or lane that keeps electricity flowing smoothly and safely without any interference from other wires.
