ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bus duct

A bus duct is like a big pipe that carries electricity from one place to another. Think of it like a giant straw that carries a drink from the kitchen to the living room. Electricity travels through the bus duct, which can be made of metal, plastic or other materials. You can think of the metal as the straw and the electricity as the drink inside the straw. Bus ducts are used to transmit large amounts of power, which is like having a really big drink that needs a really big straw. The bus duct is like a highway for electrical power to travel to the different parts of a building or facility, just like a highway carries cars to different cities. When you plug things into a wall, the electricity travels through wires to the outlet and then into the bus duct to power other devices in the building. The bus duct makes sure that the electricity can get where it needs to go safely and efficiently, just like a straw guides a drink to your mouth without spilling.
