ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Duct (flow)

Okay kiddo, imagine you are blowing bubbles with a straw into a glass of water. When you blow, you can see the air bubbles rise up to the surface of the water. Now, imagine if instead of water, there was air in the glass and the straw was a tube. This tube is like a duct and the air you blow into it is like the flow.

A duct is like a special tube that is used to move air from one place to another. It can be made of different materials like metal or plastic. Air can move through the duct just like you blew air through the straw. When air flows through the duct, it can go really fast or slow, and can be hot or cold.

Sometimes, ducts are used to circulate air in a room, like when you turn on the air conditioner or heater. The air moves through the ducts and comes out of vents in the ceiling or walls.

Ducts are important because they help move air where it needs to go, like in air conditioning and heating systems, and even in airplanes! So, next time you blow bubbles, remember that you're kind of like a duct too!
