Isostasy

Isostasy is like a balancing game. Imagine something like a see-saw or a scale, with things of different weights on each side. When one side is heavier than the other, the lighter side goes up and the heavier side goes down. Isostasy is like that but for the Earth. We have heavy rocks and lighter rocks, which are all pushing down on the Earth. When the rocks push down too much on one side, the Earth starts to tilt and the rocks on that side press down too hard and make the other side lift up. That way, the Earth is always balanced.
