Okay kiddo, so in Israel, they have an army called the Israel Defense Forces, or IDF for short. Just like in school, people have different ranks based on how much responsibility and authority they have.
The highest rank in the IDF is called the Marshal, but they don't actually use that rank very often. The highest rank that most people will see is called General, and there are several different types of generals, like Major General, Lieutenant General, and General.
Below the generals are the Colonels, who are responsible for leading regiments and battalions of soldiers. They're like the bosses of a big group of soldiers.
Next are the Majors, who are in charge of smaller groups of soldiers, like a company or a platoon. They help make sure everyone is doing what they need to do and that they have everything they need to be successful.
After the Majors are the Captains, who are also in charge of smaller groups of soldiers, usually just a platoon.
Then there are Lieutenants, who are usually recent graduates from military school and are just starting out in their military careers. They help with planning and organizing different missions and training exercises.
Finally, there are the Enlisted soldiers, who make up the bulk of the IDF. These soldiers are divided into different ranks, starting with Private and going up to Sergeant Major. They do a lot of the day-to-day work, like patrolling, guarding bases, and operating equipment.
So, the IDF is like a big team, and everyone has a different job and different levels of responsibility to make sure everything runs smoothly.
