Izod impact strength test

The izod impact strength test is a way to see how strong something is. Think of it like trying to break a toy. You try to hit it with a hammer and see if it breaks. The izod test is like that, but we use a special tool that is shaped like a knife.

We take the thing we want to test, like a plastic toy or a metal part, and we put it in a special clamp. Then we use the knife tool to hit the thing on the edge. We measure how much force it takes to break it.

The force is measured in units called joules. If the thing doesn't break, we keep hitting it until it does. Then we write down how many joules it took to break it.
