Jeanne Hachette
Jeanne Hachette was a brave lady who lived a long time ago in a place called Beauvais. One day, a group of very mean soldiers from a different town came to Beauvais and tried to take over. They wanted to hurt the people and take their things.
But Jeanne wasn't going to let them! She got a big stick and used it to knock down one of the soldiers who was trying to climb the town's walls. Then she yelled really loud and got all of the other people in Beauvais to fight too. Together, they were able to chase away the mean soldiers and protect their town.
Because of her bravery, Jeanne Hachette became a hero to the people of Beauvais. Even today, people still remember her and celebrate her courage.
