Jones v Lipman

"Jones v Lipman" is a case that happened a long time ago where two people, Jones and Lipman, had a disagreement about an agreement they made.

Here's what happened: Jones wanted to buy a house, but Lipman already owned it. They made an agreement that Lipman would sell the house to Jones, but then Lipman changed his mind and decided he didn't want to sell it anymore.

Jones got mad and took Lipman to court. The court said that Lipman had to go through with the sale because he already promised to sell the house to Jones.

It's kind of like if you and your friend made an agreement to trade toys, but then your friend changed their mind and didn't want to trade anymore. If you went to an adult and they said your friend had to trade with you because they already promised, that would be like what happened in "Jones v Lipman."
