ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Judah (biblical person)

Judah was a person in the Bible, kind of like a superhero, but real. He was one of the sons of a man named Jacob, who was also called Israel. Judah was really important because he was the ancestor of a lot of important people that came after him, including the kings of Israel.

When Judah was born, his dad Jacob had a lot of sons, and it was pretty chaotic because everybody wanted to be the favorite. Judah ended up being really special though because he was really brave and smart. In fact, he was so cool that his brothers decided to sell him as a slave to some other people who were going to take him to Egypt.

When he got to Egypt, Judah was really scared because he didn't know anybody and he didn't know what was going to happen to him. But he was really good at making friends and he ended up becoming really powerful and important.

One of the reasons that Judah was so famous was because he had a lot of kids and grandkids, and they had a lot of kids and grandkids, and so on. He was like a super important patriarch, or boss of a really big family.

Judah was also really good at making promises and keeping them. He promised one of his daughters-in-law that he would help her out, even though it was really hard for him to do. He even put his own life at risk to keep that promise, which is pretty impressive.

Overall, Judah was a really cool guy who did a lot of amazing things. He was brave, he was smart, and he was really loyal to his family and friends.
