ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Judicial misconduct

Judicial misconduct means when a judge does something wrong or bad while doing their job. Like when we do something wrong, we get in trouble and punished, so judges also get in trouble for doing the wrong thing. Some examples of judicial misconduct are when a judge is unfair or biased towards one party in a court case, when a judge accepts a bribe or gift from someone, or when a judge does something wrong outside of their job that makes people question whether they can do their job fairly. Basically, judges are expected to follow specific rules and standards to make sure they are doing their job fairly and impartially. If they don't follow those rules, then they can be punished for their actions.
