ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Junction (road)

A junction is a place where two or more roads meet. Just like how you have playdates with your friends at the park where different paths or roads converge, cars also have meetings with each other at the junction where the roads come together. Think of it like a puzzle where different pieces or roads fit together, and at the junction, they all connect with each other.

There are different types of junctions, and some can be a bit more tricky than others. For instance, a T-junction has two roads that come together to form a T-shape, like a capital T. This means that the car on the horizontal line of the T-shape has to wait until there are no cars coming from the vertical part of the T before they can go. A roundabout is another type of junction, which has cars going in a circular pattern around a central area, always turning left to get off at the road they want.

It's important to be careful at junctions and follow the rules, such as stopping at stop signs or traffic lights, looking both ways, and being patient when waiting for other cars to pass. Just like how you have to share toys and swings with your playmates, we all have to share the roads and work together to avoid accidents at junctions.
