Jurisdictionalism

Jurisdictionalism can be explained as a system of organizing and regulating the various groups within a community by assigning certain areas of responsibility to different authorities, such as local governments, regional authorities, and national entities. This system helps to ensure that everyone is held accountable and that all necessary services are provided to the community.

Imagine that you and your friends are playing a game of soccer. To make sure everyone knows what their role is, you might assign certain jobs to each player. For example, one friend might be the goalkeeper and another might be the captain. By dividing up the responsibilities, each person knows what they need to do to help the team succeed.

Similarly, jurisdictionalism divides up the responsibilities of different groups within a community. For example, local governments might be responsible for things like garbage collection, street cleaning, and maintaining parks. Regional authorities might be responsible for things like regional transportation, and national entities might be responsible for bigger issues like national security.

The idea is that if everyone knows what their job is and is responsible for it, then things will run smoothly. Similar to how you and your friends work together to make sure the soccer game runs smoothly, the different groups within a community work together to make sure everything runs smoothly too.
