ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

KK-theory

Okay, imagine you have a lot of different kinds of toys. Some are small, some are big, some are round, some are square, some make noise, some don't. Now, let's pretend that each toy has a special number that tells us something about it. This number is called the "KK number".

KK theory is like a game where we try to group these toys together based on their KK numbers. We want to find out which toys have the same KK numbers and which ones are different.

But, how do we play this game? Well, we can use some special tools, like a calculator or a ruler, to measure and compare the toys. With these tools, we can tell how different or similar the toys are.

In the same way, KK theory uses special mathematical tools to group objects together based on their KK numbers. These objects can be any kind of mathematical thing - like numbers, shapes, or even more complicated stuff like music or physics equations.

So, KK theory is like a game where we use special tools to group things together based on their "KK numbers". It's a little bit like playing with toys!
