Kadambas were a group of kings who lived a really long time ago, before you, your parents, or even your grandparents were born. They were a really important kingdom in a place called Karnataka, which is in India. The Kadambas ruled Karnataka for a long, long time - almost 500 years!
These kings were really, really smart, and they were really good at building things. They built a lot of temples and other amazing structures that are still standing today. They also made sure that the people who lived in their kingdom were happy and safe.
The Kadamba kings were really good at making friends with other kings and countries around them. They had friends in lots of different places, and this helped them to become really powerful. They were so powerful, in fact, that they could beat up any enemies who tried to fight with them.
Even though the Kadambas were very important and powerful, they eventually lost their power and were replaced by other kingdoms. But their legacy lives on - the incredible buildings they built and the stories about their bravery and intelligence are still talked about today, even though it happened a really, really long time ago.
