Kadhi courts

Okay, kiddo, so imagine you have a group of people who belong to a certain community, like a club or a group of friends who all have something in common. Now let’s say that this group has their own rules and traditions that they follow and sometimes, they have conflicts or arguments with each other.

That’s where a kadhi court comes in. This is a special court that is set up specifically for people who belong to a certain religious or cultural group, usually in East Africa and South Asia. The kadhi court is made up of judges who are knowledgeable and respected within that community, and they are responsible for resolving disputes that arise among members of that community.

So, say two people from this community have a problem, like one person owes the other money or they disagree about something important. Instead of going to a regular court, these two people can go to the kadhi court to settle their disagreement, and the kadhi judges will listen to both sides and make a decision based on the rules and traditions of that community.

The kadhi court is important because it allows members of a certain community to resolve their disputes in a way that is fair and respectful to their traditions. It also provides a way for the community to strengthen their own identity and traditions.

So, in short, a kadhi court is a special court for a specific community that helps solve their problems according to their own traditions and rules.
