Keratoconus

Keratoconus is like when the front part of your eye (called the cornea) starts to get weak and thin. This can make your vision blurry and distorted, like you're looking through a funny-shaped window. Sometimes your eyes might feel scratchy or sensitive to light too.

Doctors aren't exactly sure why this happens, but some people seem to be more likely to get it than others. It can run in families, so if someone in your family has it, you might too.

If you have keratoconus, your doctor might suggest wearing special glasses or contact lenses to help you see better. They might also suggest doing a surgery called a corneal transplant, where they replace the thin part of your cornea with a new one from someone else.

Luckily, there are lots of treatments available for keratoconus, and most people who have it can still see pretty well with the right help from their doctors.
