ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Kernel method

A kernel method is a way of doing something on a computer. It's like giving the computer a set of instructions to follow. For example, if you wanted to create a drawing on a computer you could use a kernel method. The instructions would tell the computer what shapes to draw and how to color them. It's also possible to use kernel methods to do calculations like in math or science. They tell the computer what data it needs to work with, and how to give an answer in the end.
