Khoikhoi

Khoikhoi are a group of people who are native to southern parts of Africa, like South Africa and Namibia. They have a very long history in the region, dating back thousands of years. Khoikhoi people have their own language and cultures that are unique to them.

Khoikhoi people were traditionally nomadic, which means they didn't have a permanent home and moved around a lot. They would travel across the vast grassy plains with their herds of cattle, sheep and goats.

The Khoikhoi people were also known for their incredible hunting skills. They would use spears and bows to hunt animals like eland, giraffe, and wildebeest.

Because of their nomadic lifestyle, the Khoikhoi people didn't have permanent homes. Instead, they made temporary shelters called 'matjieshuise' using grass, sticks, and animal skins. These shelters were easy to move and provided just enough protection from the weather.

Today, the Khoikhoi people have integrated into modern society, but they still maintain their unique traditions and culture. They continue to speak their native languages and celebrate their rich history and heritage.
