Kids for Cash Scandal

The "Kids for Cash" scandal happened a few years ago, and it was about two judges in Pennsylvania who were giving long sentences to kids who broke the law even for small things like stealing a DVD or a pack of gum. The judges were getting paid by private prisons for sending more kids to jail so that they could make more money. So, the more kids the judges sent to jail, the more money they made. This is very wrong because it's not fair to put kids in jail just to make money.

The judges were eventually caught and went to jail themselves because what they were doing was against the law. The people who were affected by their wrong actions got some justice, and now we know that everyone should always do the right thing, and we should never hurt anyone just to make some money.
