Killed in action

When people go to fight in a war, they are in danger of getting hurt or even dying. Sometimes, unfortunately, they do die. When a soldier dies while they're in a battle, we say they were killed in action. It means that they were fighting to keep us safe, but they got hurt so badly that they couldn't live anymore. It's very sad when this happens, and we remember and honor the soldiers who gave their lives for our country.
