ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Kindama

Have you ever played a game called Cup and Ball? It's a toy where you have a cup attached to a stick and you have to try and catch a ball in the cup.

Kindama is a bit like that, but it's a bit more advanced. Kindama is a skill toy that consists of three parts: the Kendama, the Ken, and the Tama. The Kendama is the wooden handle, the Ken is the spike on the end, and the Tama is the ball that is attached to the handle by a string.

The goal of the game is to use the Ken to catch the Tama. You start by holding the Kendama by the handle, with the Tama hanging down on the string. Then you swing the Tama up and try to land it on the Ken.

The trick is to try and catch the Tama on different parts of the Ken. You can catch it on the spike, on the cups on the sides, or on the base. Each time you catch the Tama on a different part, you score points.

It takes a lot of skill and practice to become good at Kindama, but it's a fun and challenging game that lots of people enjoy playing. It's a great way to get exercise, improve your hand-eye coordination, and have fun all at the same time!
