Knot

So, you know how you tie your shoelaces? That's a kind of knot! Basically, a knot is when you take a rope or a string or something like that and twist it around itself to make a loop or a twist. You can tie knots to hold things together or to make sure they don't come apart, like when you tie a rope to a tree or when you tie a birthday present with a ribbon. Different kinds of knots work better for different things, kind of like how you use different tools for different jobs. Some knots are easy to tie and untie, while others are really hard to undo once they're tied. Knots have been used by people for a really long time, even back when we were living in caves! And now, people still use knots all the time, whether they're camping, climbing, or just trying to keep their shoes from falling off!
