Kolmogorov complexity

Kolmogorov complexity is a way of understanding how complicated something is. It’s like counting how many questions you need to ask to understand what something is. If the questions take a long time to answer or you need to ask lots of them, then the thing is very complicated and has a high Kolmogorov complexity. If you don’t need to ask many questions or the answers are easy to figure out, then it’s not so complicated and has a low Kolmogorov complexity.
