Komnenian army
Okay kiddo, let's talk about the Komnenian army.
So a long, long time ago in a place called Byzantine Empire, there was a really powerful family called the Komnenos family. They were very good at being soldiers and fighting in wars.
They had their own special army that was made up of different groups of soldiers. They had soldiers on horses called cavalry who could ride really fast and attack enemies. They had soldiers who could shoot arrows really far called archers. They had soldiers who were really strong and could use big swords or spears called infantry. They even had soldiers who could throw rocks and things called siege engines.
The Komnenian army was really good at working together and doing lots of different things to win battles. They had special tactics like the "feigned flight" where they pretended to run away and then turned around and attacked their enemies when they weren't expecting it.
The leader of the Komnenian army was called the Emperor and he was like the biggest boss of all the soldiers. He would give them orders and tell them what to do in battle.
