ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Kunstgewerbeschule

Okay kiddo, so there was a school in Germany a long time ago called the Kunstgewerbeschule. It's a big fancy word that means "School of Arts and Crafts".

This school was really special because it taught kids all about making beautiful things like paintings, sculptures, and even furniture! They would learn really cool skills like how to draw, paint, carve, and sew.

It was kind of like going to a super fun art camp every day! And the teachers were really talented artists and craftsmen who knew all the tricks and tips to make amazing things.

Lots of really famous artists went to this school, like Kandinsky and Klee, and it had a big influence on the art world. It even helped to create a new style of art called the Bauhaus style, which was all about making things that were simple and functional, but also really beautiful.

So the Kunstgewerbeschule was a school where kids learned how to be amazing artists and crafters, and created lots of really cool things along the way!
