Kusu Island

Okay kiddo, so Kusu Island is a very special place in Singapore. It’s an island about the size of a big playground that people go to for a fun day out.

Kusu Island is actually made up of two islands, but they’re so close together that they look like one big island. One island is called Kusu Island, which means “Tortoise Island” in Chinese, and the other island is called Saint John’s Island.

The reason Kusu Island is called Tortoise Island is because the legends say that a huge turtle turned into a rock to save two sailors who were stranded there. So people started calling the island “Tortoise Island” to remember this heroic turtle.

Lots of people love to visit Kusu Island because it has very beautiful temples and shrines. People go there to pray and make wishes, so it’s a very important place to lots of people.

Kusu Island is also very famous for its beaches. The beaches there are very clean and pretty, and you can swim in the sea without worrying about anything dangerous.

To get to Kusu Island, you have to take a ferry from a place called Marina South Pier. It’s a bit like going on a big boat ride, but you get to see lots of pretty sights along the way.
