LAGEOS

LAGEOS stands for Laser Geodynamics Satellite. It is a big, heavy ball that is put into space using a rocket. It was made by humans to help them learn more about the Earth and space.

Scientists use LAGEOS to track the Earth's movements and changes. They do this by using special lasers on the ground which sends light up to LAGEOS. The ball reflects the light back to the ground, and scientists use it to make very precise measurements of how the Earth is moving and changing over time.

LAGEOS is pretty special because it is made of a very dense material called brass. This density helps the satellite stay in orbit for a very long time, which is important if scientists want to study changes that happen over years or even decades.

In summary, LAGEOS is a fancy space ball that helps us learn more about the Earth and space by reflecting lasers and making precise measurements of the Earth's movements and changes over time.
