LAMP (software bundle)

A lamp software bundle is a collection of software packages that work together to provide an easy-to-use and powerful web server. The letters stood for Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP which are the core components of a lamp software bundle. Linux is the operating system that web servers use. Apache is the web server which is responsible for delivering the web pages when a browser makes a request. MySQL is the database which stores data used in websites and provides data when it's requested. PHP is a programming language used to create pages that are interactive and can handle data from a database. Together these four programs allow websites to run quickly, securely and reliably.
