LSID

LSID stands for Life Science Identifiers. It is a system that uses a unique code to keep track of different kinds of life science information. The code helps computers figure out what the information is about. For example, a certain LSID might tell the computer that the information relates to a specific species of tree. LSID helps make sure that all the different pieces of life science information can be found easily.
