La Haye Sainte

Okay little one, let's talk about La Haye Sainte. It's a place in Belgium where a very important battle called the Battle of Waterloo happened a long, long time ago in the year 1815.

Imagine a big field with two groups of soldiers: one group called the French army and the other group called the British and their allies. They were fighting because they wanted to be in charge of the country.

Now, La Haye Sainte was a little farmhouse that was right in the middle of the battlefield. It was very important because it was a good place to hide and shoot arrows or guns from. So both sides wanted to control it.

The British soldiers were inside the farmhouse and the French soldiers were trying to get in. It was a very scary and dangerous place to be because there were lots of explosions and fighting going on all around them.

In the end, the British soldiers were able to fight off the French soldiers and keep control of La Haye Sainte. This was a big part of why they won the battle and helped them become the leaders of the country.

So, that's the story of La Haye Sainte. It was just a little farmhouse, but it played a very important role in a big battle that changed the course of history.
