Laїcité

Laïcité is a French term used to describe a type of government that keeps religion and politics separate. In other words, people's religious or non-religious beliefs don't affect how the government works or the laws that they make. This means that no one religion or belief system is favored by the government or given special benefits or privileges. Laïcité allows everyone to be equal regardless of their faith or beliefs, and ensures that people don't have to change their beliefs in order to be part of the government or society.
