Lacuna model

A lacuna model is like a big jigsaw puzzle. It has pieces that fit together to make a picture, but those pieces can move around and look different. When you look at the pieces separately, it doesn't make a lot of sense. But when you put them all together, you can see the bigger picture. The lacuna model is used in science to help explain complicated ideas by breaking them down into smaller pieces.
